TV- The Umbrella Academy
Netflix's rendition of the popular comic created by Gerard Way is a huge recommend for me! This dark humor show is really fantastic. I love the characters and the develop they each go through. The number of cliffhangers at the end of each episode had me saying, "One more episode!" With only ten episodes in the first season, it's an easy binge! The actors fit their role perfectly and the writing/production style works very well with the story from the comics. I feel that the soundtrack fits the story perfectly. I love the soundtrack so much, I made an entire playlist of only the songs from the show!
This show is interesting and a little difficult to explain. Here's as much as I can say without giving away any spoilers:
On one day within 12 hours, 43 children were born throughout the world. However, all of their mothers' weren't pregnant at the beginning of the day. Strange, right? So, this billionaire named Reginald Hargreeves adopts as many as he can and he finds seven of these children. And the story goes from there!!
Let me go over the characters. Each one of the children has different power: Luther has strength, Diego can throw knives, Allison can control people's minds, Klaus can see the dead, Five can teleport and time travel, Ben turns into an octopus-like monster, and Vanya has no power. These six characters make up the Umbrella Academy and Vayna was left out. Out of the seven kids, Klaus is my favorite. I love his personality and humor. I find him hilarious. But, all of the characters are great! You can "bond" and empathize with each of them.
This is a great show and I'm telling everyone I know (and don't know) to watch it!
