Music- Led Zeppelin
Okay, so I was most definitely born in the wrong decade when it comes to music. Led Zeppelin is my favorite band by far! They're made up of Robert Plant on vocals, Jimmy Page on guitar, John Paul Jones on bass, and John Bonham on drums. Personally, I think they're the greatest band in the world. So, I'm going to recommend some songs!
Here are my top five favorite songs by Led Zeppelin:
#5- When the Levee Breaks
This song is the last song off of Led Zeppelin IV. This is also an old blues cover. It runs for about eight minutes. I love the drums and harmonica that play throughout the song. The vocals are amazing! The guitar is fantastic! I just love this song!
#4- Heartbreaker
Okay, this four-minute song is so good! It's off of Led Zeppelin II. The guitar solo takes up a little less than half the song and is amazing! I've been trying to learn how to play the solo and it is incredibly hard, so I love it even more!
#3- I Can't Quit You Baby
This a recent love of mine. Off of the first album, Led Zeppelin, this song shows the power of Led Zeppelin. Robert Plant's scream at the beginning gave me chills the first time I heard it. Another song based on the blues is an amazing song about love and breakups. So good!
#2- Stairway to Heaven
If you've heard of Led Zeppelin, you've heard of Stairway. It may not be my favorite Zeppelin song, but I feel it is the best song ever written. Yes, I am one of those people. This song gave Led Zeppelin a name to critics. Until Led Zeppelin IV was released, critics were ripping them apart and this album and song turned that around. The amazing story about this song is how it was written. Page and Jones wrote the music to Stairway and Plant sat in the corner of the room writing out the lyrics. So cool!
And #1 is.....
Since I've Been Loving You
This song is my absolute favorite! Running at about eight minutes long, you'll never get bored or want it to end. The guitar and amazing drums keep you wanting more. The story in the lyrics is beautiful in a sad love song way. This is off of Led Zeppelin III and one of the more popular off of it. Although I love the album version, when they played it live in Madison Square Garden in 1973 (for the Song Remains The Same movie) that is when I fell in love with it. That was the first time I heard it too. The bluesy riffs and melancholy vocals make you want to fall in love. Love, love, love that song!
So, there are my top five Led Zeppelin songs! Hope you listen to them and get the led out!
